a mix of things....

MONSTER TRUCK JAM 09!!! Grandma and Grandpa surprised us with tickets to the show. It was every little, medium and big boys dream....

We were lucky enough to attend the pit party. Down in the "PIT", you could get autographs, (if you wanted to wait in a long line, for autographs of people we didn't know, but we know them now. Gravedigger and Maximum Destruction! My personal favorite was MADUSA, a woman driver), and snap pics in front of the trucks. We checked some out, and Scott saw a truck just like his from high school... he was pretty excited about that...So as we are walking around, low and behold, it was Spiderman! He walked right up to Jay and wanted to pose. Jay was caught off guard, and had wandering eyes, during the pic, only to tell me later that "that wasn't the real Spiderman, he would have had webs shooting if it was. "

Ear muffs, monster trucks and blue cotton candy. mmmm..."Little Boy Heaven"

Family portrait in front of a monster truck! grrr.... can you feel the testosterone? I chose to have our picture taken in front of the Bounty Hunter, as a small memorial to Stephanie Plum, and the Janet Evanovich books I love.
I wanted to throw in a new, and fun recipe I found. you take a large marshmallow, stick a popsicle stick through it and coat in candy melts or almond bark and sprinkle with... sprinkles. What's not for a kid to love about this. I made them for a sort of Valentine dinner we had, and Jay, Tyler and Papa George loved them.
Here Jay is, now comfortable with the site of our future house. He has found the creek and is thrilled to get out and play. Many more pics of this to come in the future. Notice the police hat, it keeps him SAFE!, according to Jay.

Random, calf in a squeeze shoot.... I can't come up with the great stories Pioneer Woman does, but liked the pic anyway. nothing too drastic was happening this day, just shots and spray. The nut cutting was the following weekend.

Valentines Day this year was very nice. I took off work on Thursday and went to Jay's school party with him. He had a blast and got to leave early with mom. I talked to a few other moms and we enjoyed watching the kids play. Friday night, Scott came home with an early surprise, flowers for me! They are absolutely beautiful, this is one of my favorites in the vase. What a guy, and a day early too.

Jay's gift was real baseball clothes.( he is very into dress-up clothes, but that could take an entire post to show) He has been wanting some, and I found some at Walmart. He was so proud of his new baseball outfit, he had to wear it to Grandma and Grandpa's for an egg delivery. After arriving there, they asked if Jay wanted to go to a game night at church and spend the night. Since it was all very impromptu, Scott and I were at a loss as to what to do, so in our grubby clothes and tired moods, we

cruised on up to Cliff and Ellas. It had been 2 years since either of us had been in there, and even though it has been added on to and remodeled, we still left with that same lingering smell. But, the burgers and beer were great! We had an enjoyable evening of beer, beef and talk.
