Variety

Up for variety? Come here! Free range eggs, The Loop and incense, and painted pottery. This is our past few days. Guess we could call ourselves cultured this week. Next post will be soon, hopefully ECO LI won't be the topic. Have a great weekend everyone!

Today, while checkin on my chicks, I found our first 2 eggs. Way to go, gals. It seems our lone red hen has layed 2 eggs. I can't wait to find more. Still waiting on my Arecunas to begin laying. They lay blue-green eggs. Giving them the nickname, "Easter Egg Chicken". Anyone want to place an order?

After coming home from the Loop, Jay had to get his fill of Abi. We pulled every pillow from the house he could find, and piled them and himself on his Dear Abi. To the left is a pic of a onsie I couldn't resist for my nephew, Jack. For anyone that doesn't know Phil(the father) is a die hard Johnny Cash fan, and Jack just started crawling. Could it be any more perfect? YES- but only if I can get the incense and whatever that sweet smell is, off it. :) One of my bright, or not so bright ideas was to take Abi to the Loop. As a teen, and college student, I remember loving it, so thought I would open an invitation to Abi. Well, it was what I remembered, but not exactly. The drug paraphernalia was a little more obvious than I recalled. But we still had fun, hitting some unusual shops and finding a great furniture store for when we both win the lottery. Poor Abi was tainted by her inappropriate cousin Kim. At least we had a fun day, giggling at strange sightings- such as a neon green VW bug, pulling a large commercial grade riding lawn mower. What a sight.

Jay and Abi outside Starbucks- They look so URBAN! Unfortunately the Loop doesn't really get going until after 11 or later. We arrived at 10, and Starbucks was about the only place open.

On Wednesday, we met up with one of my best friends from high school and her 2 kids. We went to one of those paint your own pottery places. Jay is making a light switch plate for the hallway. I love finding things that will be useful. After paint time,(between numerous trips to the bathroom made by Jay) we went to lunch, and then shopping to kill time. Not sure if those of you that know me, will believe this, but while we were shopping- we found some major bargains. What a great day!

Jay is taking a lot of time on his switch plate. We already have one he made in the spring, and I can't wait to see the next one.
Thanks for coming by! See you lata!
