I had to include something as lame as new chicken pictures, but we are so excited. I found a nice guy on Craig's list that lives not too far. Jay and I went and bought 4 more hens. These are the Barred Rock variety . They are cold hardy, and produce large brown eggs, just like weenjoy. We now have 19 in our flock.
Jay and cousin Jack. This picture is great. Too bad, we wasted an hour at JcPenny the next day, to get nothing as good as this.
We had a Thanksgiving that was just perfect. At noon time, we went to Grandma Betty's to dine with 58 relatives of some kind. The food was good, and Jay loved watching the big boys jump ramps with their bikes. After this, we headed east to my parents. This was a similar but different, - good food, relatives and lots of noise. But only 8 people. It's amazing that my grandma can make as much noise as the other 58 at Betty's. I can only say this, because I would say it to her face, and she doesn't even know what a computer is :)
No, Jay had not had a soda here, he was so excited about Christmas decorations and the train we put around the tree. Sharon and George gave Jay this gift last year, and it has been a hit!!!!
Alvin is currenlty on a break. 4 days with a herd of cattle that were open had him exhausted. This was Alvin's first time in with a group of women. Scott had to bring a back-up bull home. What a dream for most men, to need a back up man...
Scooping snow off the trampoline- sure thing- that the dogs have not relieved themselves on this.
Snow ice cream in the making! There's nothing that a pint of heavy cream, can't make taste good. Our recipe today was- snow- the poopless kind, cream, 1 fresh egg(straight out of a box in the hen house), a shot of vanilla, and a spoonful of sugar. We mixed, froze and ate. YUM, it is really good!
Christmas has come early! This weekend~ George and Sharon brought our gift over. We are now proud owners of a new radiant heater. We can't wait to see what a difference this makes in our propane costs. THANKS!!! Mom and dad also delivered a new fridge for us! It is so exciting to reach into this bad boy, and know where my hand is going. Our old fridge, was a dark unknown hole that many were afraid to enter. Even though this fits in the same spot, and has similar dimensions, it holds so much more!!! Something about door shelving that really holds stuff. THANKS!!!! We love all of our new gifts!
We ended our exciting 5 day weekend, with a birthday party for Jay's girlfriend, Megan, at Brunswick. 3 lanes were saved for a group of 12 lil tykes. Jay had never been or seen someone bowl. He loved it. His first score was a 63, with the help of a metal stand, they use to help the kids. Limbo was played, pizza and cake were ate and there was lots of fun to be had.
