Thursday- A friend from school and I met up at Bass Pro, for summer kids camp. Jay, John and Drake took 4 classes, each 30 minutes long. I have to say, they sat and listened for 120 minutes longer than I though they would. Topics ranged from animal tracks, to plants and insects, bird watching and last as a complete surprise to us Basic shooting and safety. YIKES!!!! this was not in our plans. But after being persuaded by the Bass Pro staff, we gave. It was great. The boys were taught gun safety by a cool guy in camo, then taken to the shooting range in the back of the store. Each child had 6 shots with a BB gun, and They were given their targets, and a certificate to take home, as well as pins showing the classes they took. I can't wait for next year, to do it again. I highly recommend this to anyone with little kids. Girls too. All 3 boys soaked up as much information as they could.
John, with Randy and his Daisy BB gun. Who would have thought they would have been shooting guns today? Not me!
Jay with a Daisy BB gun, and Randy his shooting assistant. I have to say- I was pretty fond of Randy myself. He reminded me of Scott...
Friday during the day, we visited a friend's neighborhood pool. Jay and his buddy John, had so much fun as usual. They are quite the pair! FYI- Jay is now jumping off the diving board, without any flotation devices!!! YEAH!!! 4 years old and in the deep end by himself YEAH, all of my dreams have come true. I have a water bug of a kid.
Friday evening was our annual Relay for Life event. Our team raised over $13,000.00 this year. It is always a memorable event. We we blessed to have numerous SURVIVORS walking with our team this year.
Jay, Cool Cousin Ben-home from college and T!
Pirate Jay ggrrrr and Carson...
Sunday we had a big lunch (aka dinner) around these parts with Aunt Jodi. Jodi was able to make it in, from her big girl job on the east coast. She is living quite the life. But, I know she really wants to be back in our boring little town, right in the middle of the Midwest. After eating, we flew kites. It was great time, twine worked as well as kite string, and it helped settle our full bellies after the large steaks we ate.
Since Sunday, we have had lots of appointments dealing with the soon to be house. Kitchen cabinets, concrete, highway department(they can stick it), and the road man who happens to be one of Scott's personable uncles. In addition to that, the home we currently live in, must have been feeling neglected, because it is now refusing to drain the washing machine water out of the house. This old house, is insisting on keeping washing machine water all to itself, meaning our washer drains all over the basement floor and sits there! After 3 hours of hard work by Plumber Dave today, we have Plumber Don coming tomorrow to run a camera through the lines. I can only imagine what secrets these lines will hold.
I wish this site loaded faster. I would post so many more pics.
