Holiday Fun

Leading up to the actual holiday of Christmas, we have had such an eventful month. I have loved every minute of the season this year. For some reason, I have not let the stress of it all bother me quite as much. Let's hope that is one benefit of getting older. Jay and all the other kids around have made the smallest things so precious.
I guess parking in a garage every night hasn't hurt either...

Jay's preschool class, had their annual Christmas program. Decked out in their Sunday best, each class sings 3 songs. Jay's class was the best, so mature and serious at the old age of pre-K.

The first snow of the year, brought so much excitement. Jay quickly dressed in layers and began "plowing" our sidewalks. Since then he is very concerned with the smallest amount of snow on the sidewalks. Good thing Santa brought him, his very own snow shovel. I love the emotion, kids bring to the smallest things.

A local church, we have started attending was getting together for some good old fashioned caroling. When asking Jay if he wanted to go along, he replied with "what is caroling?" how could I let that be, we were going. A group of about 25 adults and children went. Walking through town and knocking on the doors of the people someone knew. It was a brisk evening, that helped bring excitement to everyone. Bringing others cheer on a dark cold evening, felt so good.

On the 23rd, Jay and I went to Scott's work party with his friend John. We ate smoked ribs and talked with daddy's co-workers. More importantly, the boys got to ride on multiple pieces of equipment and watch full logs ground into mulch. We all left, with such a festive feeling.
The actual Christmas festivities will be posted as soon as they come to an end. Day 5 of 5 tomorrow. We have had such a blessed season! Hope you have too!
