7 days down!

I have a few minutes while we wait to eat dinner while Scott mows hay. He is working hard and late as usual. It never ends... August 26th and still mowing hay. It has been one crazy year. I am playing catch up, on my blogging, and had to post our 1st day of school pics. I may have a few out of order, but all are still great memories for us.
On August 18th Jay and I both had our 1st day of school. This brought on so much anxiety for me, which was most likely felt by Jay. I hate the transition from being with him all day, every day, to the one back to work. I love work, and have enjoyed all the nold faces of former students coming by for a visit, I just wish sleep was not required by us in the fall. We still have so many fun things to accomplish while the weather is nice. So now we have just completed our 7th day, and both of us are doing much better. We have began adjusting after some defiant moments by both of us. Jay is surprising us every evening at the dinner table, telling us everything he has learned. This year is really going to be a big one. In the past week, Jay has learned the Pledge, a few songs and made so many new friends, as well as going to school with other friends from home. I like to think he is popular with the women, maybe I shouldn't be wishing for that, with his wandering hands. :) He seems to be enjoying school more and more each day, which in turn makes my days better too. Scott has been an enormous help around the house, and is very understanding to our exhaustion. So in all, our new school year has been a success! Hope yours has too!
What a BIG boy, with a BIG backpack!
