bla bla bla...

Fall is here and about gone, and winter came in today with a roar. I am excited for crock pot concoctions, as well as the time indoors. I'm sure I will have had my fill by next week, but until then, I plan to enjoy it. Scott has been busy, busy busy with work. Jay has had a hard time missing his daddy, but is running the basement with him right now. I can hear the two men in my life playing as well as the sound of our new washing machine. It's amazing how good a pair of work jeans look, just out of a working washer! The things that excite me, hmmmm....

I'm catching up online. What a lame thing to say, but since this is some of my social life... I need a little time every now and then. Work has put a damper on our Internet time. Oh well, the kids keep me plenty busy. I'm sucking down some wine, as a result of those crazy a$@ kids today and loving every second of it. I'm just getting ready for next weekend, girls. I am so freakin' excited ! I hope you all are having a great Friday evening too.

I wanted to post a few odd and ends, so here it is.... Nothing related and random shots. Hope you enjoy!

Has anyone heard of the band "Nickel Creek"? It's bluegrass, and I love it. My friend from high school, Becky just got married and has her music playing with a slide show. If you like Allison Kraus, you will like Nickel Creek. Her pics are gorgeous.

Jay and Tyler climbing the wood pile. What fun they are having.

My boy, checking the hens.

The wood pile. A place I may be able to hide this winter. Just kiddin, I may be spending plenty of time here, hauling in wood to our Amish heating system. We put a wood stove in the basement 2 years ago to help offset the costs of heating with propane. It helps, but is hard work. Every afternoon as I stoke the fire and put more wood on, I feel very Laura Ingals Wilder, but at the same time, PROUD. I can heat a house without electric heat.

Thepioneerwoman.com is a fun website, a co-worker and I have found. Nina and I have possibly fallen in love, with a woman online. We have not only tried her recipes( pumpkin-whiskey cake, chocolate sheet cake and crash hot potatoes THE BEST) I am making her chocolate milk tonight. She cooks like Paula Dean, kind of... Butter is a food group to her too. But she is so fun to read. She is a city girl, turned country. Sound familiar? It does to me. Her extremes are so much more than mine, but so fun to read. So anyone needing something to do, stop on by and give her a try.

Good evening! Stay warm!
